First Contact

FIRST CONTACT

To open ourselves to pleasure:
It's what the aliens want to teach us
For who would wish telepathic contact
     with a world of whiners?

Aliens call Earth
"Planet of the Hates"
We are so bitter, so backwards
so cruel and filled with pain.

All acts of love and pleasure
Are invitations to alien contact.
Are you ready to merge
     with the Neighboring Other?
Have you freed yourself from malice?
Have you made your mind
     a splendid pleasure dome?
Have you adorned yourself as bridegroom?
Have you adorned yourself as temple prostitute
offering your golden body
to strangers from the stars?

Are you ready to merge
     with the Neighboring Other?
Have you made your mind a worthy playground
for beings with superior notions of play?
What substances have you ingested
to make your mind receptive
to unearthly forms of enjoyment?

Are you prepared to surrender your mind
to alien pleasure transmissions?
Are you prepared to surrender your body
to an otherworldly physics of orgasm?

All acts of love and pleasure
Are invitations to alien contact.
Are you ready to join the Galactic Club?
They are opening their warm arms
Their sticky tentacles
Their moist fur-lined cavities
To Earth's uniquely beautiful males and females.

They know what they want;
They made the first move
They have touched us gently so as not to frighten.
They are open and yearning for contact.
What then holds you back
from joining the Galactic Dance?
What then holds you back
from wholeheartedly embracing
      the beckoning Cosmos?

Wow. Having listened over the past year to 100 hours of Terence McKenna, this poem means something is never could have before.

And regarding the captcha to be filled out, "Please prove you're not a robot" has more layers of meaning than I realized.

Nick, years ago your quantum books filled my mind with great ideas, and nothing has slowed you down.

Another wonderful, daring poem. What holds us back?

Fear and the unconscious monkey-impulse for conformity, I think.

Oh, and no access to mushrooms.

How many people on this planet can experience pleasure to the same level they can experience pain? Even if they could physically withstand the ecstasy of 10,000 orgasms completely engulfing their entire body and aura, how many would allow themselves such an experience, once they became aware of the possibility?

Would it be the ones who have closed their hearts, who have rewired their energy systems to access power through sexuality via blood-lust and anger; or would they would blow up instantly?

Why is there such a formidable barrier to experiencing endogenous pleasure on this planet?

I fell on your poem by synchronicity and glad I did. Your poem reflects well the path I've been on with my out of this world inner guide and helps me integrate into my life experience that I may not be totally crazy afterall :)

What a journey life is :)
