The Art of Parting

 THE ART OF PARTING

Even tho there are parts of the Earth
I never would have seen
Were it not for you

Even tho there are parts of the Music
I never would have heard
Were it not for you

Even tho there are parts of the Sea
I never would have smelled
Were it not for you

Even tho there are parts of me
I never would have tasted
Were it not for you

Even tho there are parts of you
I never would have touched

Were it not for you

Were it not for you
I never would have learned

Were it not for you
I never would have learned
I can live without you.

Nick your poetry is amazing and boy timely as hell today .it’s just what I needed to hear …today. My heart broke, but we can live with a broken heart with a relationship that couldn’t quite go where we had hoped. Thanks for this

Dear Nick… so timely this… my wasband Dan, Dad of my daughters passed on March 25… he would have very much applauded this as a paean to him living after me as his wife. Thankfully, we were at peace after my making amends as best I could for many years. We also shared many years of love & fun, too. And above all, we stayed Family. 💖
